Seek and Find by Amanda Balser

"Seek And Find" by Amanda Balser is a different type of romance book. It was very interesting and unique. I must admit when I was first contacted by the author about this book I wasn't sure if I would like it. I am more into those intense romance books, with the Alpha males. But I was like "why not?", the synopsis really caught my attention.

I can say that I really enjoyed this book, the way it wasn't as intense as other books I've previously read. Harper and Colt's relationship was not without obstacles to overcome. And man were those obstacles tough ones!!

We meet Colt on Halloween, drunk and walking down the streets. After meeting a mysterious woman he wakes up at the edge of a pond, unsure of what has happened. That night was the beginning of a big change in his life. On that same night we meet Harper, fate intervenes and they meet one another. Time passes and these two form a strong connection with one another and slowly fall for one another. But Colt holds a deep secret, one that can change their entire relationship. One that could break them. What happens when this secret is revealed? Will Harper stand by his side or will she do as Colt fears and run from him?

This book was a little sped up in the beginning. But I didn't let that stop me. I kept reading it and was pulled into Colt and Harper's relationship. I was hoping that Harper would stand by Colt and show him how much she loved him. It truly is somewhat of a fairy tale, twisted and made for grown ups. As this was a new author, I was unsure of what to expect. I must say I was highly surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. I suggest you all go and check it out!! It's a great new type of book.. At least for me it was!

Excerpt:
Darcie
Suddenly, I am transported back in time to three years ago. The feeling of being pinned down by my arms and legs, the feeling of a man’s weight restraining me and the inability to breathe flashes into my mind. I start to violently shake my head from side to side. My breathing gets short and fast. Without even realizing it, I start to scream; just like I did the night he planned to touch me.
Jake freaks out and quickly releases my body from under his. “Shit, Darcie, I’m sorry. I forgot how you get.”
I’m still screaming, unable to move. I’m frozen to the carpet. I’m still in that house. Lying on that urine soaked bed.
Salvation arrives.
Reggie appears out of the nowhere. He kneels down beside me. His hands are wiping the anger away from my face as he whispers into my ear, “Shhh, Darcie. It’s okay. I won’t let him hurt you again, never again. As long as there’s breathe left in my body, he will never harm you again.” His voice is all I need to hear. My eyes begin to focus. My brain begins to register the only true protector I’ve had in my life.

If you haven't read it then you will most likely not understand what is happening but head on over and buy the first book. Trust me you will NOT want to miss out of these hot bodyguards!!

Deleted Scene
From: Protect Me
Book #1 of The Protected Love Series
By Jennifer Culbreth

Location: Chapter Twelve, Page 204

She leaned back in his chair as she flipped open the top to the pizza box. She wasn’t hungry, and food would just make her more tired at this point. She unlocked her phone screen and hit her contacts button scrolling down until she saw the newly updated picture of her and Ryan next to his contact name. She had taken it the afternoon they had gone to the chocolatier. She smiled at the thought of how much fun they had. She was too tired to fight at this point. She really just wanted to be home, with Ryan. She pressed the dial button as she put the phone to her ear.
It rang twice “Babe, are you ok?” His voice came through the receiver.
“Yeah, I’m fine. I’m just really tired and I don’t think I am going to make it until closing. Is there any way you could come and get me?” She could hear the exhaustion in her own voice.
“Of course I can, I will be there in just a few minutes. What do you say you come back and stay at my house tonight? I can have anything you need brought over, or picked up and delivered.” He sounded hopeful that she would say yes.
“Um, sure. I would love that.” She smiled into the phone as it reflected through her voice.
“Ok, I will see you in a just a few minutes.”
“Ok, see you soon.”
She pressed end on the screen, and was startled when she saw the door open to Trent’s office. At first she thought that maybe he had left something and was returning to get it before he went to his meeting. When she looked up to the man in front of her, she realized it wasn’t Trent. To her surprise Mr. Wilcox came in through the office door dressed in a designer suit and shoes. She immediately shot up out of the chair. The invasion of privacy immediately making her feel uneasy.
“Excuse me, I didn’t mean to startle you, Ms. Hastings” He held his hand up as if to excuse himself for barging in. “I was looking for Mr. Williams but apparently he is not in this evening.” His familiar southern accent rang out through her ears.
“Uh, no. Trent isn’t here. He left for a business meeting.” Her eyes darted around the room in search of something to protect herself with. “Mr. Wilcox, what are you doing here in LA?”
“Well you see, Abbi, I happen to be a pretty well-known business man out here. I happen to do business with your boss as well; meaning I do a lot of traveling from Atlanta to Los Angeles, mostly for the weather though.” He regarded her coyly before stepping closer. She could feel her body immediately tense. Causing the aches through her body to sing out. “Mr. Williams has explained that the two of you are particularly close aside from your working relationship. You can imagine my surprise when he mentioned your name.” He smiled over at her before continuing, “Now, seeing as how I helped with your father’s estate maybe you could tell me who might he be meeting with tonight? I didn’t realize that Mr. Williams had any other associates aside from myself.”
“Oh, no Trent and I aren’t in a relationship.” She stepped back and shook her head. Where on earth would he have gotten that idea? Why is Trent telling people they were together? Why was Mr. Wilcox here in LA? All of the questions began piling into her head. He’d seemed harmless when she’d first met him but something in her gut was telling her that he wasn’t the most honorable man.
“No need to explain anything to me, I pass no judgment on how he runs the business. I can assure you I won’t report it back to HR.” He gave her a sideways grin as he stepped closer to the desk.
She felt the sudden urge to get out of there. She wasn’t sure what he was here for, but she could tell that it wasn’t anything that she wanted to be involved in.
“Listen, Mr. Wilcox, I really have no idea why you’re here. I also have no idea where Trent is or who he is meeting. So I should just be on my way.” She made a step towards the door.
“By all means, I understand you have a very important job to do. However I would like for you to pass along some information for me, I want my money. And I don’t like having to wait.” His tone suddenly turned very serious.
“Listen, I have about twenty dollars in my wallet. If that will cover it than I will go get it right now. If not, then I think you’re talking to the wrong person.” She edged her way a little closer to the exit at the side of the room.
“You’re very funny, Ms. Hastings. I would hate to have to break that funny bone of yours because of your boyfriend’s misjudgment in my patience.” He reached towards her and she flinched back. He recoiled his hand, “Please pass the message on to him, and let him know that I will be back, soon.” With that he turned and headed towards the door.
An eerie silence transcended throughout the office. It was so quite her ears were ringing. She needed to get out of here. She didn’t give a damn if she had to wait outside for Ryan she was not going to stay in this building any longer tonight. She found herself very jumpy as she made her way out of the office and down the hallway, checking over her shoulder every few steps. The feeling that someone was going to jump out from behind a door caused her to almost run. Relief flooded through her body as she made her way out of the door and down towards the bar counter. She nudged her way through the crowd as she found Judy standing just towards the end of the bar.

Explanation:

In this deleted scene you see that Mr. Wilcox, the attorney from Atlanta who helped her with her father’s estate in the beginning chapter of Protect Me, is actually used as the villain. I read over this scene many times before deciding to change. I felt as though Abbi had entrusted too many less than honorable people by this point in the book. I wanted some of the people she had relied on to actually have good intentions.
The other reason I decided to change Mr. Wilcox as being the villain to Mr. Hernandez is because I felt it would flow easier. I knew that certain characters wouldn’t be continuing on to the next book and I wanted to keep the threat of retaliation alive. So instead I re wrote this scene and introduced Mr. Hernandez. Other scenes earlier in the book, i.e. when Abbi is eaves dropping on Trent’s conversation with the “mystery man” were added to incorporate this scene into the book.

Interview with the Protected Love gang from Jennifer Culbreth's series!

In honor of the release of "Cherish Me" Jennifer Culbreth has given us a few special treats!! One of them being a fun interview with the gang!! Get into the mind of Jace, Judy, Abbie and Ryan. Let's see what craziness this gang comes up with!!

Protected Love interview:

Jennifer: Ok kitties, you asked and you received. I just so happen to have some pull over at VIP Bodyguard Services and was able to get the guys and their lovely ladies over for an interview. Hi everyone and thanks for coming by today!

Ryan: Hi everyone, we are happy to be here.

Abbi: Yes, thank you for having us, Jennifer. You know we love your hair so much that we couldn’t say no.

Jennifer: Yes, I do have fabulous hair don’t I? **Smiles sarcastically**

Jace: Smokin’ hot boss lady.

**Judy slaps his arm.**

Jace: Ow! What was that for?

Judy: Don’t oogle. *Judy giggles**

Jennifer: Now do y’all see what I have to deal with, with this group? Ok let’s get down to business. I have some questions for you all sent in by the readers. Everyone ready?

Judy: Yes, they are real.

**Jennifer cuts her eyes as a slight smile crosses her face. **

Jace: I can second that.

Jennifer: Jace, I will cut you if you interrupt again.

Jace: Sounds familiar…

**Jace covertly point over to Judy.**

Jennifer: Ok first question is for Jace from one of our lovely readers. Jace do you happen to be looking for a new assistant? I’m qualified.

Judy: Well, I can answer that one for you. **Cuts eyes towards Jace**

Jace: Fortunately I have found an assistant that both Judy and I agree on. His name is Romel and he makes an amazing cappuccino. **Smiles proudly over at Judy**

Jennifer: Ok, next question is for Jace again. What do you think would have happened if you’d met Abbi before Ryan had?

Abbi: I can answer that one for you! **Laughs playfully.**

Jace: Abbi would have kicked my ass to the curb a long time ago. No, but seriously I needed a woman who could roll with the punches and wouldn’t be afraid to put me in my place. No offense Abbi, you do a great job keeping Ryan in line, but I think the only woman on Earth I would ever want is sitting right here next to me. **Leans over and kisses Judy.**

Ryan: Aww. Look at you two love birds.

Jennifer: Ok next one is for Ryan. If you were stranded on a desert island what 5 things would you want with you?

Ryan: You thought you were gonna throw me off didn’t you? You see, I avidly watch Bear Grylls so I know that I need a container for water, a lighter, blanket, an entire box of Zebra Cakes, and of course my woman.

Abbi: Hell no I am not going to a deserted island with you.

Ryan: Aww come on! What if I exchange my box of Zebra Cakes for S’mores Pop Tarts.

Abbi: Ok, I’m game.

Jennifer: Ok, next up is Judy. What did it feel like the first time you and Jace kissed?

Judy: Well, the first night we kissed was a week or so after we had first met. Contrary to popular belief I don’t kiss on the first date.

Jace: Technically it was our first official date.

Judy: Ok contrary to popular belief I only kiss on the first date when I am shit faced. We were both smashed so the first kiss was sloppy and wet. But I could feel the sparks flying.

Jennifer: Aww, aren’t you precious. ** Smiles playfully** Ok next one is for Abbi. It’s date night, but at home, what’s on the menu and what’s prepped on the DVR?

Abbi: Easy. Chinese take-out and anything with Adam Sandler in it. I love funny movies and he is by far my favorite actor.

Jennifer: Short and to the point; I like it. Up next to bat is Ryan. If you hadn’t had to fill in the night you had met Abbi, do you think you would have found each other?

Ryan: Hell, if I hadn’t filled in that night I can tell you I would probably be at the office right now plowing through paperwork and files on upcoming jobs. However I think we would have eventually found each other. **Reaches over and grabs Abbi’s hand.** Probably at the bakery because we both eat there at least once a week.

Jennifer: Ok this one is for the group. What are your Halloween costumes this year?

Abbi; This has become the debate lately. I think we should all dress up like the Super Mario characters. However, someone. **Ahem, points over at Judy** doesn’t want to be the mushroom.

Judy: I think we should dress up as Crayola Crayons.

Jace: No way I am going to be a crayon for Halloween. I think we should go as a BLT.

**Everyone looks over at Jace.**

Jennifer: A BLT?

Jace: Yeah. You know I can be a piece of bread, Ryan can be a piece of bread, Abbi can be a piece of bacon, the baby can be a piece of lettuce, and Judy can be a tomato slice.

Jennifer: That’s eerily planned out.

Jace: I have been waiting on this since last year.

Jennifer: Ryan, you weighing in on this?

Ryan: I think we should be the cast from Walker Texas Ranger.

**The room goes quiet.**

Ryan: Oh come on! I can be Walker, Jace you can be C.D. Parker, Abbi can be Alex Cahill, and Judy can play Sydney Cooke.

Abbi: No way. You lose.

Jennifer: I agree, Ryan you lose. At least Jace’s is cool, who doesn’t like a BLT?

Jace: My thoughts exactly.

Jennifer: Ok, last question and this is again to the group. If you were to get tattoo’s signifying your significant other what would it be?

Ryan: A .357 revolver. The first time we had breakfast I thought Abbi was going to pull it out when I mentioned Trish without explaining who exactly Trish was.

Abbi: Ha! That’s what you get.

Jennifer: Abbi, what are you inking on you?

Abbi: I think if I were to add to my collection it would be a lion head down my arm. He’s kind of the leader of our pack and so it’s kinda fitting.

Judy: I would get do not enter right on my ass cheek. Just a friendly reminder for Mr. Rico Suave over here.

Jennifer: Holy Moses, too much info.

Jace: I would get an angel, because Judy is just a perfect sweet beautiful angel.

Jennifer: **Props hand against chin while looking at Jace and thinking.** Yeah, Judy you got anything to follow up to that.

Judy: No. He’s couldn’t be more right. **Smiles widely over at Jace.**

Jennifer: Ok! Well that’s it folks. I want to thank you for stopping by and I hope that your followers have had as much fun as I have. Never a dull moment.

Judy: Not when I’m around!

Abbi: Don’t forget Cherish Me is released October 26th! Make sure you get your copy to see what happens in Jace and Judy’s story! You won’t be sorry!

Cherish Me by Jennifer Culbreth

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC copy of Jennifer's 2nd installment to the Protected Love series, and I have got to say.. DAMN I want myself a bodyguard like Jace or Ryan. The first book Protect Me seemed to focus on the love story between Ryan and Abbi, this one on the other hand gives us an insight into the relationship between Jace and Judy.

This book starts off right where the first one left off. It's the aftermath of the entire shooting and chaos created by Judy and Abbi's boss. We see how Judy fights her inner demons and tries to overcome them to have the happy life that she want with Jace. We realize how this group of friends had turned into something much more then that; they are now a family and stick with one another no matter what. This is something that Judy is not used to and takes her a while to realize. As this group of friends try to go back to their every day schedules, and return to a sense of normalcy after everything that has occurred to them people from Judy's past make their way into her life once again. At this same time, the group begins to receive threats once again. Jace and Ryan use their bodyguard company and their connections to try to capture the one responsible for making their life a living hell. Judy tries her hardest to ignore the coincidence that when a certain person from her past appears, is exactly when the chaos begins once again. Once again we are thrown some really unexpected twists and turns in this book. Like seriously??!! Some of these things I was NOT expecting at ALL! WOW!! I am happy to see Judy and Jace have their HEA and this 'family' grow and get closer together! I cannot wait for the next installment of the Protected Love series.

Jennifer's first novel was "Protect Me", and just like that one, "Cherish Me" did NOT disappoint at ALL!! I lost track of time reading this until I realized it was almost 3am and I had class in just a few hours. Yet did I go back to sleep?? NO not at all!! LOL, instead I kept reading until I finished it. I have to admit I was sad to see it end though, I just kept wanting MORE of this group of friends. For this being Jennifer's 2nd book I am impressed. It was well written and flowed nicely. I am definitely going to be on the lookout for the next book! I need more!! I want me a bodyguard boyfriend like these! haha! Go check out Jennifer's Protected Love series NOW

Auditioning You by Jessie Evans

Before I begin this review I must say, I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a small novella, a quick and easy read. I highly recommend it for those looking for a fun, happy and light read. Definitely needed after the book I read before this one, that messed with my emotions. Within the first few pages I was hooked!

We meet Beth Perkins, a costume designer in LA whose world is turned upside down in a matter of days, she loses everything that she has built in this town. Trying to escape the emotions Beth takes an all expense paid vacation she wins to a lovely private island. She goes with the mindset to become a new Beth, become her own person and forget all the troubles that she has endured in the last few days.

During her first day at the island she meets, or better yet is saved by, Tanner Bryson. Tanner is a well known actor, he decides to take a similar vacation to Beth's in this island and get away from all the chaos of the Hollywood life. They have met each other once before during one of the movies they both worked in, but this is the first time actually speaking freely with one another. This meeting has sparks, many many sparks! This is a novella of their relationship developing over a short amount of time and the bond that seems to develop between them almost instantly.

This is a very cute and sweet story. Even though it is a bit short, the story itself is not rush. I felt it went at the perfect pace and loved that we weren't pulled through pages and pages of angst and drama! If you are looking for a quick upbeat read then this is the book for you! I will definitely be reading more of Jessie Evans' books!

It should be noted that this book is part of a mini series called "Cupid Island". I will be sure to check out the other two books! Go and check this author out!!

Skipping Stones by J.B. McGee

Let me start this off by saying I have been a big fan of J.B. McGee ever since I first read "Broken(This)" and the rest of the "This" series. Her books tend to be filled with emotion, and many hot, steamy scenes as well. When I heard of this book, I was told that it wasn't her typical book, this book was more 'vanilla' then all her others. My go to books seem to be those books with a troubled alpha male who saves their love interest, and that are filled with hot steamy sex scenes. But I decided to give this book a try, a little curious as to what this book was all about. I am glad that I gave this book a chance, yes it is VERY 'vanilla' but in a way that is needed for the story to unfold. And this was a story that needed to be written. If you don't usually go for these type of books or stories, don't ignore it.. give it a chance because it will surprise you and will captivate you. A change from time to time is a good thing.

Skipping Stones starts off with meeting Alex Hart. As a teenager, she is hit with the tragedy that rocks her world, needing solace she runs to the creek near her grandparents place that she has always loved. Here she meets a boy, Drew Foster. He becomes her relief from all the pain and from her relality. She goes to him for comfort, and opens up to him allowing him to help her heal a little. Their relationship unravels and see Alex experience all her first with him: her first kiss, her first boyfriend. But then fate steps in and rocks Alex's world and soon Drew becomes another first: her first love lost. Once again her world is rocked and Alex has to decide whether to follow her heart or to try to move on.

“…God gives us the people we need in our lives for the amount of time he sees fit.”

The story continues with Alex trying to live her life, just go day by day with not many emotions. But once again tragedy unfolds, one that brings her back to the town that she left behind. A town that is filled with memories of everything that she has lost. The return to this town also brings back someone from her past, someone who she thought she would never see again. Drew comes back into the picture. Years later and he is back, Alex realizes all the feelings she's had for him are still there. He was her first love, and her only real love. But how do you move past the betrayal, the pain that he put Alex through? Will they be able to repair this relationship. The relationship that helped Alex breathe again, that helped her live.

Let me tell you, this book is a tear jerker. I am one that does cry while reading books. But it takes a lot to actually make me cry. This book had me crying within the first few chapters!! J.B. was able to convey so much emotion into this book, I felt Alex's pain as she struggled to just make it day to day. I imagined myself in her position, and even understood her pain at times. Knowing what it feels like to go through some of the things she went through made me feel for her even more.

What I loved about this book is how it made me experience falling in love for the first time, the emotions that run through your body when it happens. I felt all of it! And loved it. There was no sex or hot and steamy scenes in this book, but there were very intimate, private moments. Moments that only happen with wanting to make someone feel wanted and special, or being the one shown. It was a wonderful book and I am glad that I gave it a chance. I have to say, this made me an even bigger J.B. McGee fan!! Don't stray from this book just because it is not what you typically read, give it a chance and I am sure you won't be disappointed!

A Beautiful Mess by T.K. Leigh

"Because no matter what happens, you are going to get hurt in life. But it's so much more better to have jumped into the ocean and get stung by a jellyfish than to never have felt the salt water between your toes at all."

"A Beautiful Mess", the perfect title for this book. Indeed, this story is a beautiful mess full of angst, love, betrayal, secrets and lies. T.K. Leigh takes us on a crazy roller coaster with both of the main characters emotions. I have never read a romance book like this one. This romance book is full of action and suspense as well, it keeps the story very interesting and keeps the reader in the story. These two characters have lived a roller coaster life, and struggle through things from their past, a past that they don't know connect with one another. I kept reading to see if the truth would ever be revealed and they would realize how connected they really are with one another. But NOOO T.K. Leigh leaves us with a cliffhanger! We do get a sneak peak into the next book at the end of this one, but not enough to know what is going to happen. I cannot wait for the next book in this series, I am in love with Alexander and Olivia.

Olivia has had a crazy dramatic, heartache filled past. She lost both of her parents when she was only six and then lost her uncle, the only other person she had close to her right after she graduated from college. This past has left their scars on Olivia, she does not let anyone in, except for Kiera her best friend. She does not go on dates, only casual no strings attached hook ups. She is scared to let anyone into her heart because everyone who she has let in have left her. She runs away from her emotions, literally, having moved from city to city until finally returning to Boston and working at a Wellness Center.

Then there is Mr. Alexander Burnham. He is a handsome, rich and successful business man and also known as the most eligible bachelor in Boston. But Alexander has his own scars from the past, he lives knowing that he could not save the love of his life years ago, and that she is no longer with him. Even though the event happened when they were just children, this broke his heart and he has not been able to fully heal it. Everyone tells him that it is time to move on, but deep inside he knows he can't because he has a feeling that she is still alive somewhere out there.

Both Alexander and Olivia have had a troubled past, and one day fate intervenes and their paths cross. Alexander saves Olivia from being attacked, one look into her eyes and he is sure that he has found HIS "Olibia". Slowly we see the relationship unfold, and how Olivia let's Alexander into her life, opening up more to him then she has with anyone else. The more that Alexander finds out about this Olivia, the more that the pieces connect and the more he becomes sure that this is the Olivia that he was unable to save all those years ago. Alexander is unsure of what to do, tell her what he knows, or continue this relationship that they have developing. There seems to be a reason why Olivia was taken from him, a reason for keeping her a secret all these years. Alexander is scared that revealing her identity will put Olivia in danger and have her taken from him once again. Will the truth come out? Will Olivia continue to open up to Alexander? Or will she run from her emotions once again?

The romance in this story was just so well written, how sweet Alexander is to Olivia, how much he cares and is scared to lose her. We see how vulnerable they are with one another, how their walls seem to disappear when they are together. I love the chemistry between these characters. I fell in love with their relationship. I was a little hesitant when I got this book as it's not my usual romance book, but I am glad that I gave it a chance. Wow, T.K. Leigh amazed me and I cannot wait for the next book!

"Maybe the reason I never settled down before was because, deep down. I knew you were still out there somewhere and my heart was just waiting until I found you"

Far Too Tempting by Lauren Blakely

I've read a few of Lauren Blakely's books and have loved all of them so far. I was lucky enough to get an ARC copy of her latest book "Far Too Tempting" before it was released. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it was a cute and easy read. The characters were really relateable and down to earth. The more that I read, the more into it I got. I found myself reading late into the night (on a school night!) reading about Jane Black and Matthew Harrigan.

This is not your typical rock star novel, and that is what I loved about it. I enjoyed the fact that Jane Black is not your typical rock star. She is a very normal, down to earth artist; going from attending the Grammy's to the volunteering at her son's school the following day. She likes to keep everyone she trusts close to her, and does not let many into her life

Jane Black has been a somewhat struggling indie artist, having a few CD's but nothing that has gotten much attention. After a heartbreaking separation from her husband she writes a chart-topping break-up album. This album earns her a Grammy, and also much more media attention concerning her follow up album. Matthew Harrigan is a well known music critique, and a very good looking man. Did I mention he's British??!!! A super plus!! Matthew is in charge of writing an article following Jane's process as she writes her new album. But the chemistry between them seems to be almost impossible to resist. It is a somewhat forbidden attraction, one that both try to ignore and keep things just professional between them. Jane is still recovering from her failed marriage, she doesn't trust men or reporters. But there is something about Matthew that makes her willing to open herself up to him. The way that their relationship develops is so cute and loving. The small banter, and small talk that they throw at each other shows just how compatible they are with one another. This relationship does not have an easy road, they struggle with the professional aspect of things as well as dealing with Jane's trust issues. But ultimately their connection seems to overcome everything

The way that Blakely writes these books is amazing. Every sex filled or sexually frustrating scene were super hot. Whooo! I was fanning myself reading these scenes. Seeing their relationship blossom was wonderful, and an entertaining way to get to know the characters. I found myself falling for Matthew the more I kept on reading. This book is one that you will NOT want to put down. I had to force myself to stop reading at times. The more you read this book the more that you fall for these characters. I felt as if I was part of this group, and had a connection not only with the main characters but with the supporting ones as well.

Good Intentions by S.L. Scott

This is book two of the "Welcome to Paradise" series. We continue with Mallory and Evan's relationship. At the end of "Good Vibrations" they finally decided to give their relationship a serious chance. They both wanted to be together more than anything, but the fact that Mallory will soon have to return to Colorado lingers in the back of both their minds. They try to avoid the subject and just be together, enjoy themselves in the moment. Mallory and Evan dream of somehow working past this "summer fling" and making it last into a stronger longer relationship. They dream of a future together, but the truth of the matter is their lives are in different parts of the world. This puts a small strain in their relationship and tested their love for one another. They try their hardest to make this whole long distance relationship work, but being apart seems to make them doubt if they truly should be with one another.

Both of them changed over the summer, they faced demons that they had been dealing with for years. They gave each other the strength to do just that. When they where on the Island, it was as if it was their own little bubble, and truly their own little paradise. They were thrown back into reality and had to try to live in their old worlds, without one another there to help them. I wasn't sure how this was going to end, but I am so glad to know  that there will be a third book in this series. The way that SL Scott writes this book is incredible. Her way with details makes me feel as if I was at the island with them, or in the city with Evan and Mallory. I felt as if I was with them and felt their pain. I will definitely be on the lookout for the next book in this series and for more by SL Scott!

Saved by Kelly Elliott

"Women are...fuck, I don't really know how women are. I just know that at least more than half the time, when they say something, they really mean the opposite. I don't know why. God made 'em that way, and I ain't about to question God on it"

This is book two of the Wanted Series, first book was Wanted. In the first book we meet the gang: Gunner, Ellie, Jeff, Ari, Josh, Heather, Brad and Amanda. While the first book focuses much of its attention on Gunner and Ellie's relationship, in this book we switch focus to the relationship between Jeff and Ari. But we also get insight into the other couples relationship, including more Gunner and Ellie! Yes Jeff and Ari had admitted to one another how much they have loved each other for years, and finally began to give themselves a chance at this relationship, that does not mean that the road they travel was an easy one. Not at all! Once again Kelly Elliott surpasses my expectations and throws twists and turns at me. The way she writes about these characters, I feel as if I'm part of their little group, as if I am one of their friends as well. When they get mad, I get mad. They cry, I cry. Wow, seriously parts of this book had me in tears. But there are also many swoon worthy emotions. Kelly's way of writing pulls me into the book and has me living the moments with these characters.. and I love it!! Kelly Elliott became one of my all time favorite authors with "Wanted", and showed me just why I loved her so much with "Saved".

This book starts off exactly where Wanted left off, on the night of Gunner and Ellie's wedding. If you have not read that one, I suggest you STOP READING this and go read that book first, SERIOUSLY!!
At the end of Wanted Ari is hit with some devastating news, news that breaks her heart and makes her run from Jeff. But Jeff will not let her run, not this time. He chases after her and promises to fight for her, and to not let anything get in the way. He proposes:

"Ari. I was lost before you, and I would forever be completely and utterly lost without you. Your love saved me. I promise you, Arianna, with every ounce of my being, I'll do nothing but love you and cherish you."

The news that Ari finds out has to do with Jeff and someone from his past. This someone becomes a constant obstacle in their relationship. Yes they love each other. But Jeff, having grown up with a troubled childhood is determined to be responsible and do what he believes is the right thing; even if it means hurting himself and the ones he loves. Ari is strong minded and is not afraid to speak her mind. Even through all of the things that Jeff makes her suffer through, she still loves him unconditionally. They struggle through hardships, betrayals, and loss but together and with the help of their friends and family they overcome them. Finally they get that HEA that they deserve.

"For once, I truly feel like Jeff and I are finally on the road we are meant to travel on. I don't think you can get to where you are truly meant to go until you travel that one road. The one that's filled with sharp turns, steep hills, and nothing but pot-holes that you have to try to get around. After you make it off that road, you find one that is straight, smooth, and filled with nothing but happiness."

Even though this book focuses on Jeff and Ari's relationship, we also get small insights into the other couples. We see how Gunner and Ellie are doing after their marriage, transitioning into the married life. We see their struggles with trying to have a baby as well as dealing with Gunner's parents.

We also get a better look into Heather and Josh's relationship, or in this case non-existent relationship. These two can't seem to agree if they hate each other or what to be all over each other. Heather is a sweet and caring girl who has had to deal with the loss of both her parents, therefore making her scared of being abandoned. This fear has her keeping Josh at arm's length. With Josh's man whore reputation it wasn't a surprise that Heather would be scared to let him into her heart. But you have to give it to Josh, he tried his damn hardest to prove to her that he cared for her. That he wanted an honest relationship:
"I call you princess because you deserve to be treated like one"

Will Heather finally allow Josh into her life, and admit that she has true feelings for him? We will have to find out in the next installment of this series, "Faithful".

The Game Changer by J Sterling

"This book is dedicated to everyone who fell for a loveable screwup named Jack and refused to let him go. Thank you for wanting more."

And want more indeed!! This book is the sequel to "The Perfect Game", in which we meet Jack and Cassie and get to know how their story begins. After reading that, I honestly was not sure where the story would go as it seemed to have ended pretty good. But after hearing that we were going to get MORE of Jack, I wasn't one to complain!! haha.. I read this book the DAY (well I guess technically the night) that it loaded onto my kindle. Man oh man, am I glad we got this story. I think Jack F'n Carter fans like myself will NEVER get enough of him!
The Perfect Game messed with my emotions so much I was a little scared to read this one. Jack just loves to break my heart and then put it back together countless times. But you CAN'T help BUT love him!! For those of you who read The Perfect Game and didn't understand how we could love him after all he did.. READ THIS BOOK!! He will make you fall for him, or in my case make you fall for him even more!!

"Jack Carter does not exist as a full person without Cassie Andrews....Without you, I'd be a shell of a man. A hollowed-out, empty, lifeless carcass. And I know that because I've been there. I lived through it."

This book starts off basically where The Perfect Game left off, right after Jack reappeared into Cassie's life and begged her to take him back. Cassie is trying to forget about what he made her go through and continue with their relationship. The beginning of this book is sort of a recap of the Perfect Game but from Jack's perspective. We hear Jack's side of the story and his explanation for what he did and why he had stayed away for so long. This part of the book broke my heart. I knew that Jack must have been suffering for staying away from his "Kitten" but now I truly understood just HOW MUCH he was heartbroken. I felt so bad for him

He then promises to "Prove it", to prove how much he loves her and how much he needs her in his life. The fact that Jack is a big time player in the big leagues means Cassie needs to adjust to living her life in the spotlight. She needs to deal with the media, the crazy fans as well as all the mean wives. Sometimes it seems like too much! She tries to keep this stress to herself, not wanting to be a burden to Jack. When she finally admits it, it seems as everything and everyone is conspiring to break them apart. Will their love be able to overcome yet another tough obstacle or will this be the last straw?

This story was full of forgiveness, love and working together to overcome your inner struggles and let those who love you into your life. I fell for Jack even more while reading this book. Yes there was drama involved in this book, but what good book DOESN'T have a little drama in it. I will tell you this, it was NOT as crazy drama as the first one. I don't think my heart could have handle another round of that!! I love the ending, the epilogue was just PERFECT! <3 <3

I CANNOT WAIT to see what else Sterling presents us with, especially with all her teasing she has been doing lately..maybe MORE JACK?? (won't complain about that!) or maybe some Dean this time?? hmmm..whatever it is you can be SURE that I will be reading it!

"You told me once that I was your game changer, but the thing is, you're mine too. It took me a while to realize that, but I finally did. You're my game changer. Because nothing else matters if you're not with me."

Chance Encounters by J. Sterling

"Love isn't all rainbows and unicorns all the time. And neither is life. Sometimes life is really freaking hard."

Before reading this I was already a BIG fan of J. Sterling. She had blown me away with The Perfect Game. After some researching I found out that she had written a couple of books prior to that one, and I made it my mission to read them as well. I started off with Chance Encounters.

How romantic is this book??!! The instant connection between these two is just so strong, you can feel it in the way she writes the story. We meet Caroline Weber, a normal girl who works in San Francisco and lives with her boyfriend Clay. She is very happy with him and the life that they have created together. To her things were running smoothly, and the possibility of marrying Clay was in her thoughts and future plans. Then a chance encounter with a drop dead gorgeous stranger makes her rethink her entire life in just one plane ride. This stranger, Jackson Parks, makes her doubt if she trully is happy with the life she has with Clay. Even though Caroline tries to pretend that nothing has changed, that encounter with Jackson has changed her and she can no longer go back to her every day life. But can she risk leaving the safe life she has created to chase what seems to be an impossible dream? This is a very emotional love story. We witness Caroline struggle with deciding what is best for her, trying to ignore the feelings that Jackson has woken up inside her. Can you develop such a strong connection/relationship with someone you have never even kissed? Will she be willing to risk her heart, risk everything that she was worked to achieve for this one guy?

"Sometimes When A Heart Is Seperated, It Becomes Stronger"

J. Sterling is an amazing writer, one of my all time favorite one. After reading this book I was even more certain of that. The way that she is able to convey the characters emotions and make YOU the reader feel them as well is just amazing. I am seriously in awe of her writing. Being as this was an earlier book she has written, you can see the difference between the maturity in Chance Encounters and The Perfect Game, but that does not mean this book is not any good. I want to go on a plane ride and see if I can find myself my very own Jackson!!

Private Show by Danielle Torella

Got to start off this review by saying: CONGRATS DANIELLE!! Your debut novel "Private Message" was incredible, and so well written. But you can see just how much you have grown as a writer in this book. Such an amazingly written book, even more amazing than Private Message!! Being able to have beta read for you was truly a blessing. I was so lucky to have been able to do so. And on release day you can be sure I hurried over to Amazon and one-clicked my copy of this great book!!

This book starts off basically where Book 1 leaves off. From the very beginning you are sucked into the book and feel as if these characters are your own friends. I love how strong Tess is, she does not let anyone get in her way, isn't afraid to express herself and be who she is. Tess is unlike the other female leads I have read about. I can tell that Danielle put herself into Tess, and used her own experiences into her characters. Ben, man oh man.. This guy is just the perfect package, and the fact that he's British is just icing on the cake hahaha. Together they make such a cute, funny and adorable couple. But they are also very steamy, the sex scenes are amazing!! Yes there is a little bit of drama, but what good book doesn't have it??!! What I really enjoyed in the book was getting to also know some of the other characters a lot more. James was briefly mentioned in the first book, and only appeared a little. But we got to see what a great big brother he is to Tess. And Caroline is so sweet, I want a friend like her!! You can see how much she loves her big brother Ben. As the book progressed I fell more and more in love with Ben!! The ending was amazing, so great. I was a little mad at the ending as it leaves off in a small cliffhanger.. But omg I can't wait for MORE from Danielle!! I highly recommend this book. But do read her first book "Private Message" first! Go and fall in love with Ben and then continue to fall for him even more in this book!!

Thoughtless by S.C. Stephens

“I want to be someone’s everything. I want fire and passion, and love that’s returned, equally... I want to be someone’s heart. Even if it means breaking my own.”

S.C. Stephens messed with my heart and took me on a major roller coaster. I had heard of the Thoughtless series for a while now. Many blogs and fellow readers, going on and on about how GREAT Kellan Kyle was and how in love they were with him. This series was on my TBR because of this, yet I hadn't had the time to get emotionally involved with a book; and I had been warned that I would be VERY involved while reading this. All those other readers were soo right!! Kellan and Kiera do not have it easy AT ALL!! I was in LOVE with Kellan, I felt so heart broken for him at times and I also wanted to strangle Kiera through a lot of the book.

Warning: This book contains cheating, most of the book revolves around the cheating happening. But it is core to the book and to the characters struggles.

This book begins with Kiera, a college student who: transfers colleges against her parent's wishes and travels across the country following her boyfriend of two years, Denny, who has landed an internship with one of the best advertising companies around. Denny has gotten them a cheap place to stay w/ an old friend. This friend happens to be a HOT womanizing lead singer of a band "The Dbags".

This lead singer is drop dead gorgeous, and Kiera notices him indeed:

"I couldn't help but notice the lead singer first. No one would be able to overlook him- he was drop-dead gorgeous."

Who is this new roommate and lead singer of the Dbags?? None other then Kellan Kyle. Kiera tries to keep their relationship at a roommate level, being friendly with him for the sake of living peacefully. But you can see tension building between these two. Kellan flirts with Kiera, but that is not something new.. he flirts with basically every girl he meets. Time passes and these three roommates seems to fall into a routine with each other and are living peacefully, Kiera and Denny living happily as a couple. Then one day Denny gets an amazing work offer, one that takes him to another city, leaving Kiera behind for 2 months. This leaves Kiera and Kellan alone, in the same household. Kiera spends weeks moping around feeling abandoned and lonely until one day Kellan and his band force her out of the house and help her begin to find new things to do without Denny. While Denny is away the 'innocent' flirting between Kellan and Kiera continues. This flirting progresses, bringing trouble when Denny suddenly returns. Soon we find ourselves in this crazy love triangle between Denny, Kiera and Kellan.

Kellan just want whatever makes Kiera happy, even if it means leaving her alone:

“What if I don’t choose you, Kellan? What will you do?”
He looked away, a tear rolling down his cheek. “I’ll leave, Kiera. I’ll leave, and you and Denny can have your happily ever after.” He looked back at me. “You wouldn’t even need to tell him about me. Eventually, the two of you…” his voice broke and another tear fell on his cheek, “the two of you would get married, and have children, and have a great life.”
I fought back a sob. “And you? What happens to you in that scenario?”
“I…get by. And I miss you, every day,” he whispered.”

My heart broke for him so much. He kept having to pretend that he was okay with Denny and Kiera's relationship. I admit at times I wanted to yell at Kiera, she kept suffering and making Kellan suffer as well. She was selfish in thinking that she could have both. But ultimately the truth comes out, and after a lot of emotional and physical pain Kiera and Kellan are finally able to be together without having to hide how they feel. I was so annoyed at Kiera at the end of this book that it took me a few days before I dove into the next book in this trilogy which is "Effortless". So if you need a break from this couple after this book, I don't blame you. But just don't give up on Kiera, you HAVE to give this couple another chance and see where this relationship goes.

The Coincidence of Callie & Kayden by Jessica Sorensen

“In the existence of our lives, there is a single coincidence that brings us together and for a moment, our hearts beat as one.”

Oooh man, where to begin with this book.. just remembering about is bringing tears to my eyes. Jessica Sorensen did a wonderful job in this book. The characters and their emotions were so vivid and I connected with them so much. Seeing how much they struggle to just go day to day made me feel as if I was with them, struggling along with them. This was the first book I read of Jessica, and my oh my, it made me go to Amazon and look up every book that she had written to download onto my kindle. I highly enjoyed the alternating POV's, seeing how much both of them hurt, how much they kept things from others to avoid hurting the other. I will warm you though, it leaves you in a MAJOR cliffhanger, I literally cried out "NOOOO" when I got to the end. You are in luck though, as the 2nd book in this series is already out. You won't have to wait months for it to come out.

This story revolves around Callie and Kayden. They've lived in the same town, attended the same school their whole lives, yet never really interacted or gotten to know each other. Kayden is the popular jock, dating all the hottest girls, with a big group of friends. Callie on the other hand is the quiet, reserved girl. She keeps to herself a lot and is known as the 'class weirdo'. Their first interaction occurs at one of Kayden's house parties, in which Callie "saved" Kayden from his own father. This encounter has stayed with them both even after not coming into contact with one another.

Fate seems to intervene and bring these two together once again. They've left their town and ended up at the same college. Trying to forget about what they've left behind and start a new life away from their demons they literally run into each other during the first days at their new school. Both have deep hidden secrets that make trusting people a struggle. Yet their connection with one another blossoms into a friendship, that friendship develops into love. They come to realize that together they can help one another fight their demons, to be strong and no longer afraid.

I fell in LOVE with these characters. I felt Callie's pain, how much she struggled to open up to Kayden. Kayden, wow, this guy is so strong. He's had to fight through so many of his own demons but he's always there for those he cares about, Callie being the number one. I want my own Kayden! haha.

This book WILL leave you wanting more. There is just no way you can get enough of these two!
You will want to dive right into the next one which is "The Redemption of Callie and Kayen", which I HIGHLY recommend as well (More on that one in a later post)

Relentless by Cassia Leo

This is book one of the Shattered Hearts series.

I had heard of this series from other readers, all about how wonderfully written it was and how it was a MUST read. I was a little reluctant to read it because it did not fully catch my attention when I looked it up. But then I saw that the entire series was on sale for $0.99, less than $3 for the entire series! So I took a risk and bought all three books. They were on my kindle for a while until I finally decided to take the plunge and read them..boy oh boy am I glad I did!!! From the first chapter alone I felt a connection with Claire. The more I read, the more I fell for all of the characters. The struggles that Claire has been through make her more relate able, more real in a sense. I could not put this book down once I picked it up. I just HAD to keep reading to find out what Claire's secret was!!!

Claire Nixon's childhood has been full of darkness and heartbreak. She has been moved around from foster home to one another. She learns to feel unwanted, and to put up walls to keep herself safe. Finally she is put into a foster home where she finds the mother she always wanted, but she also finds the one person willing to work to bring down the walls she has put up. Chris Knight is Claire's foster mother's son, and her first true love. Claire encourages Chris to pursue his dreams of being a singer, which turns into one of the biggest mistakes in both their lives. Claire has struggled to live without Chris and to repair her broken heart.

A year later, Claire has moved away from the city that is full of memories of Chris. Claire has dropped out of college and fled away from everything she's known, ready to start new. In this new city she meets her new neighbor, Adam Parker.

The relationship that Claire and Adam develop with one another is cute, flirty and very friendly. While getting to know one another Adam makes a bet with Claire: If he can get Claire to tell him what is her big secret that made her drop out of college and run away then she must re-enroll. If he doesn't then she gets to keep her secret and he will leave her alone and stop 'stalking' her at her work.

Claire has perfected the act of suppressing the memories of her pass, or so she thinks. But Adam's constant pursuit of her and how he opens up to her, revealing his own set of secrets is a twist she did not expect. One thing that Claire is definitely not ready for is for Chris Knight, now a famous rock star, and her former love, to appear once again. The return of Chris brings out Claire's big dark secret. Will Adam be able to deal with what she reveals to him, and what will Chris' reappearance in Claire's life do to Adam and Claire's relationship??

Next book is "Pieces of You"
