Private Affair by Danielle Torella

Private Affair by Danielle Torella is book three in the Private series. The first two books are Private Message and Private Show. In order to understand what is going on in this book you should have read the previous two books. The series follows Tess' relationship with Ben. They have had their ups and downs through their relationship. The past has haunted them and threatened to tear them apart, but throughout it all they've stayed strong and battled their demons. It seems that they have finally gotten the chance to have this relationship they've wanted and be happy?

Throughout the previous two books in this series we've gotten to know and fall in love with not only Tess and Ben but all the other supporting characters as well. The way Danielle writes these characters, it makes you feel as if you are part of this group of friends and family, not just as if you are reading the book. In Private Affair, it seems as if Tess' and Ben's lives are going great, they are together, have their dream job. But it seems as if life always finds a way to throw a new curve ball for this couple. Tess is offered a dream gig, but unlike the other gigs that she's had with Ben, this one is with a new writer, and it includes being away from Ben for a while. Seeing them struggle with trying to be there for each other, but at the same time letting the other live out their dream was so real and great. You saw how much these two love each other and have learned two put each other first above everything.

Apart from the time apart, we also deal with other bits of drama that unfolds throughout the book, drama that includes not only Tess and Ben but also their friends and family. But they're stronger now, and are able to get through it because they have each other. Danielle's writing is magnificent, she just pulls you into this story that is so unique and unlike any other series that I have read out there.

There are many, many romance novels out there, but none that I can compare Danielle's to. The way that she's created these characters and made them so realistic, yet unique to other characters is refreshing. I have fallen in love with this group of characters and seeing them grow and develop throughout these previous books. I highly recommend purchasing this series and falling in love with Ben and Tess

COVER REVEAL: From the Inside Out by S.L. Scott

From the Inside Out is a brand new

 4 part serial from

New York Times Best Selling

Author S.L. Scott.

Here are the AMAZING covers for Scorned and

Jealousy - Part 1 & 2 of the serial

            Part 1: Scorned - Aug 18        Part 2: Jealousy - Sept 8

We shared a love that regulated every heartbeat and every breath we took. It was all encompassing. I thought our love could withstand time and anything thrown our way.

I was wrong. So wrong.

I used to be happy. I used to be Juliette Weston when Dylan Somers filled my life with promises of love and a happy ever after. But when he took my heart and broke it into a million pieces, I became someone else entirely. In one afternoon, I lost my soul mate. I lost everything I knew myself to be.

Three years later, the man who destroyed me is back.

To assuage his guilt? To finish the job? It doesn’t matter… I won’t let him this time. I’m stronger. I’ve moved on. He won’t affect me.

This is a story of love and betrayal. Pain and loss. Happiness and fate. It’s about finding your true destiny.

This is our story.

And it’s not for the faint of heart.

S.L. Scott is a former high-tech account manager with a journalism degree pursuing her passion for telling stories. She spends her days escaping into her characters and letting them lead her on their adventures.

Live music shows, harvesting jalapenos and eating homemade guacamole are her obsessions she calls hobbies.

Scott lives in the beautiful Texas hill country of Austin with her husband, two young sons, two Papillons and a bowl full of Sea Monkeys.

BLOG TOUR: Redeemed Love by M.S. Brannon

10153720_10201702703229417_6050035006274147206_n

REVIEW:

Wow..what did I just read? M.S. Brannon has hit it out of the park once again. Redeemed Love is book 5 in the Sulfur Heights series and it is NECESSARY to have read the previous books in order to get the full experience and fully understand what is going on. We've met Jeremy Evans in the first book and he's always been sort of a background type of character. He never really had a huge role in the first book, then in book 2 we get a tiny, shocking glimpse into who he truly was.

This book gives us a deeper look into who the real Jeremy Evans was. And wow, his story is so deep and complex. There are so many layers to him that we never knew about, so many emotions he kept hidden from his family. Jeremy was living a double life, and now we get the full story. I was so shocked while reading this book. So many unexpected twists, but they helped to explain why he acted the way he did around his family members. We know what happens to the Evan's family after Jeremy's arrest. But now we see what he goes through during his time in jail, as well as what happens afterwards. Jeremy's story will make you cry, want to scream, gasp and make you laugh. M.S. Brannon loves to take us on this whirlwind ride with huge ups and downs, and this story is no exception to that.

I am so in love with M.S. Brannon's unique and creative style. She is not afraid to write the dirty and realistic type of scenes. These incredibly written scenes add so much to these books. They captivate you and make you feel as if YOU are living in Sulfur Heights and living all this drama along with Jeremy and the rest of the Evans family. I HIGHLY suggest that you grab this series and get ready for am emotional ride! I cannot wait to see what else this amazing author will bring us.

Synopsis

“Who am I? For all intents and purposes, I am the nice guy; the loyal brother and decent citizen. I am quiet and non-confrontational. I am the brother nobody worries about and can always depend upon. To my family, I am the good one. However, that’s only what they see on the outside.” ~ Jeremy Evans
Outwardly, Jeremy Evans is a typical guy, the calmest of the Evans brothers. He’s obsessed with cars, enjoys the company of beautiful women, and is devoted to his family. Inwardly, however, Jeremy is a ticking time bomb. Torn between what’s right versus what’s wrong. When the attempted rape on Darcie occurs, Jeremy finally loses the battle within himself. The pure hatred for Sulfur Heights consumes him and escape is all he thinks about.
One year later, he is secretly engrossed by the drug-infested underworld. Jeremy’s double life leads him on dark and sinister paths of drugs, violence, and rage. The Evans family is destroyed after Presley’s murder and consequently, Jeremy’s arrest. He’s sent to prison where he’s forced to survive with the mistakes he’s made on his conscience. However, only one thought lingers. It consumes the years he spends locked in a cell. Retribution.
Cami Ryker used to have a picture perfect life. She was loved by her family and happy with her life until her brother’s sudden death tore her family apart. Cami is forced to care for her ailing mother and assume the responsibilities of a normal adult. However, when the bills are paid and her mother is tucked away for the night, Cami likes to cloud her mind in order to escape her daily struggles. Late one night, a stranger trolling the streets rescues her in a dark alley. The mysterious stranger will become one of the most important people in her life until the day he’s sent to prison.
Four years later, Jeremy is released and seeking redemption for his mistakes, but the betrayal is still thriving amongst the Evans family. Will Jeremy finally find the solace within to gain the forgiveness from his family that he desperately craves? And is it possible for Jeremy to save those he loves and exonerate himself in the process?

 Excerpt
“Really?” Jake screams and steps closer. “You’re not sorry for getting Presley killed? All of that had to do with you. You know that, right?”
“I was trying to protect her!” My belly is touching Jake’s and we are going to blow up on one another. I can sense it.
“How were you protecting her? She’s fucking dead, Jeremy! Take some goddamn responsibility for what you’ve done!” Jake pushes on my chest, but I don’t waver.
I stand my ground and wait for him to hit me. Once he hits me, then my switch will be fully turned over. The beast is pacing like a rabid animal inside of me. He’s screaming and clawing, trying to get out of me, but I can’t allow that to happen. Jake will be dead if it does. The red is seeping into my line of sight, and soon, it will consume me. Soon, there will be no stopping it. I need to assess what’s really happening right now. I am on the verge of killing my brother, my twin. I will never be able to live with myself if I allow that.
I take a step back and expel deep gasps of air. I turn my back and thread my fingers behind my head. I need to walk. I have to get as far as I can away from this situation before it moves from bad to worse. I slowly walk away from Jake, hoping he doesn’t pursue. Yet the more I move away, the more my inner beast beckons me to attack. I am fighting to keep him inside, but it’s impossible when I’ve been that horrible person for so long.
My skin is lit on fire, and I feel like I’m boiling from the inside. Sweat is generating and makes my skin slick. I grab ahold of the back of my shirt and rip it over my head. My bleeding arm is aching, but I ignore it. I toss my shirt to the ground and walk to the garage. I stalk back and forth, trying to keep myself from losing it when suddenly the anger is too much to bear. I pull my fist back and slam it into the wall. My knuckles crack loudly. Instant pain shoots through my hand and up my arm.
I want to feel the pain, though. I need to feel the pain. I deserve to feel pain. I torture myself some more and start laying blow after blow into the wood. I smash my fist into the unforgiving building until I cannot stand another second of it. Then, I release a loud, guttural scream. It’s a scream in anger and agony.
When I turn to face my brother, I’m looking at two of them. Reggie is standing beside Jake, arms crossed and indifferent. Jake, on the other hand, is staring at me in disbelief. He is studying me and trying to see if I’m the brother he used to know. However, the look in his eyes is telling me I’m a stranger. They’ve never seen this side of me before, and it’s the part of me I’ve been living for years. I’m familiar with and comfortable in this mind’s state.
My breathing is labored and the pain in my arm is growing to great heights. I can no longer stand the intensity as it burns my entire arm. I fall to my knees and hold my wounded hand against my sweaty chest.
As Reggie looks to me, his indifference finally fading, he sees me for the brother he once loved and falls to my side. I hold my head up and connect my eyes to his. They are filled with worry and concern. I’ve done an amazing job destroying my family, but the little part of me that’s left hopes my family can see I really do want to be with them. It will just take me time to shed my past.
“What happened to the brother I used to know?” Reggie’s voice is quiet and scared. Not since Darcie’s situation with Robert have I ever seen Reggie this frightened.
I glance down at the ground and try to think of what happened to his brother. I rack my brain, digging in the depths of my memory to find out what the hell happened to him—to me. Nothing comes to mind other than my execution. The Jeremy Evans they knew and once loved is dead.
I look back to Reggie and answer as honestly as I can. “He died a long time ago.”

The Beauty Scenario tag

I know this is my book blog. But from time to time I like to mix things up and give you guys a little insight into who I am! Hope you like it ❤️❤️

1. You have to get rid of all your foundations and you can only keep one high end and one drugstore, which do you keep?
I've never actually tried a high end foundation, but my go to foundation is CoverGirl's 3 in 1 full cover foundation.
2. You go for an interview and the lady interviewing you has lipstick on her teeth. Do you approach the subject or ignore it completely?
To be quite honest, if this was during an interview I would probably be way too nervous and wouldn't even notice it.
3. You’re not feeling yourself and need a pick me up. Which lipstick do you put on to make yourself feel beautiful?
I'd say I'd go for a bold red lip, those type of colors usually help perk me up the most.
4. You go back in time for a day to your teenage years, how would you do your hair and makeup differently?
I wouldn't get highlight in my hair, knowing now how bad they ended up looking with time. As for makeup, I didn't wear much makeup up till my senior year in high school. I guess I'd say to not cake on the foundation as I did sometimes.
5. You ask your hairdresser for a shoulder length Pixie Lott hair cut, but they hear wrong and give you a pixi cut. Do you a) Smile, say thank you, leave and call your mum hysterical b) Cry in the chair and things get awkward or c) Complain to the manager and demand a refund.
I've had a very similar situation when I was younger. I asked for a trim and for some reason the stylist cut it super short up to just below my ears. I resorted to option A as I did not know what to do about it. Right now I'd probably do the same thing now.
6. Your friend surprises you with a 4 day city break and you have 1 hour to pack. Which ‘do it all’ palette do you pack in your makeup bag?
I think I would pack my Jenni Rivera palette from BH Cosmetics. It has a vast range of colors that I could create different looks with, as well as a great selection of blushes to choose from.
7. Your house has been robbed, don’t worry everyone is safe, but your beauty stash has been raided. What’s the product you really hope is safe?
It would HAVE to be my ItsJudyTime eyeshadow palette. It's my most used eyeshadow palette AND it's signed by Judy herself. I could replace the palette but never get it signed again!
8. Your friend borrows your makeup and returns it in awful condition. Do you a) Just pretend you haven’t noticed b) Ask them to repurchase it or c) Secretly do the same to something of theirs
I don't have friends who would borrow my makeup. The only one I could think of is my best friend and I know she would never do that. But if for some reason it ever did happened I think I would go with option A. Now if this was a reoccurring thing then I would say something and ask them to repurchase some of the ruined makeup.

I hope you all enjoyed getting to read about my other love: makeup!! Love you all,
Jen ❤️

CHAPTER TWO

Friday, 8:36 a.m., New York

Her hair a wild tumble and her eyes still hazy from what Clay had done to her, Julia sat up in the leather seat of the town car and glanced out the tinted window, catching a glimpse of the houses rolling by. Some red brick, a few yellow clapboard, all with freshly-mown lawns and crisp hedges. Pulling her gaze away from the glass, she tugged her skirt back down to her knees, then flashed a woozy thank-you-for-the-fantastic-O smile at her man.

He winked as he adjusted his tie—his lucky purple tie. Earlier this morning, he’d been wearing a sun-yellow silk tie that she’d bought for him at Barney’s a few weeks ago for no reason except that she knew it would look good on him. Indeed, the tie accentuated his power attorney style perfectly when he wore it to an important meeting the next day, and it had looked particularly fetching on her later that night when he’d twined it around her wrists then lifted her onto the kitchen counter and had her as an appetizer before they both enjoyed dinner.

But even though she had fond memories of the yellow tie, she’d insisted he wear the purple one today. It was a trip to Vegas after all, and they’d be gambling for fun, so they needed Lady Luck on their side. Whatever good fortune this tie had brought him, she wanted it traveling all the way to the city she hadn’t visited in a long while. The place she’d despised on principle for the last few years, but was ready to fall in love with again on this trip.

“Now, that’s a way to start a vacation,” she said, snuggling next to her handsome man who’d just pleasured her. That was one of his favorite things to do, and he’d brought her many Os in many town cars over the last few months, starting with that first weekend she’d visited him in New York.

He’d treated her quite well in moving vehicles. Come to think of it, he’d treated her well every-fucking-where and back.

“There’s more where that came from,” he said, as he wrapped an arm around her, pulling her in close.

“I never expect anything less than a regular supply of your talented mouth,” she said, running her palm along his square jawline, locking her gaze with his deep brown eyes that knew her so well. She threaded her fingers through his thick hair, simply because she could, simply because it was damn near impossible to keep her hands off him. She moved in for a kiss, but something in her peripheral vision nagged at her. Those houses beyond the window.

Houses? That’s when it hit her. There were no houses on the way to the airport. There were no manicured lawns and pretty porches on the path they usually took. It was highway all the way, but she’d been too preoccupied moaning, writhing and rocking her hips against his face the last several minutes to notice.

She dropped her hand from his hair and narrowed her eyes. “This isn’t the route to Newark,” she said, her voice a bit panicked.

EXCERPT: “You sure you’re not sneaking off to Los Angeles to get me a ring?” He laughed once more. She’d been trying to get it out of him since the night he told her he’d wanted to take her to Vegas for the weekend. Even with her business meeting, she was hunting for clues of a proposal. Only his brother knew he planned to ask her to marry him this weekend. “I’m not going to Los Angeles to get a ring, but even if I were I would never tell you,” he said. “You do realize that gives absolutely nothing away?” He nodded, tapping her forehead lightly, then running his finger down to her nose. “I know,” he said, then nibbled on the end of her nose. “Well, enough about rings. What’s in that box there you’re hiding by your leg?” “You saw it?” “My gift-spotting skills know no bounds.” He handed her the turquoise-wrapped box with a white bow on it. She eyed the bow. “In case you want to tie me up on the plane, looks like we already have something to use.” His dick twitched against the denim of his jeans. She was always on the same wavelength as he was. “I may need to tie up your hands as a reminder to bring your poker face to the meeting today.” She gave him a sharp-eyed stare. “Do not ever doubt my poker face. It is masterful,” she said, as she tugged one end of the ribbon, letting the white satiny bow fall across the shiny wrapping paper. Ripping off the paper, she popped open the top of the box, and there it was. That glow in her eyes. The absolute joy in receiving gifts. She was a delight to give presents to because she never faked her appreciation. Reaching inside the box, she wrapped her fingers around the necklace then gently lifted the long strand of pearls. “Oh my God, they’re stunning. They’re so fucking gorgeous.” She draped the pearls over her hand, the long strands like waterfalls of smooth, rounded beads. She gazed at them like they were precious, a fitting response, since they were. “They’re real,” she said, with wonder in her voice as she looked up at him. He nodded. “I would never give you something fake.” “I’ve never had pearls before. I’ve never thought of myself as a pearl person.” “Then let me show you how I want you to wear them, so you can see how absolutely fucking sexy a pearl person can be,” he said, standing up and making his way to his suitcase. He opened one of the zipper compartments where he’d tucked a dress for her, and brought it over. “Another gift. Put this on.” “Now?” He nodded. “Yes. Model it for me.” “As you wish,” she said, standing up and glancing once at the cockpit. “What about the pilot?” “I told him we’d be making full use of the plane and he said he’d have his eyes on the sky the whole time.” “Then keep your eyes on me,” she said, looping the strand around her neck, then stripping off her skirt, letting it pool at her feet, her gaze locked on him the whole time. He watched her, growing harder with each layer she removed—now her shirt, then her lacy bra. He reclined the spacious leather seat, taking in the show, savoring every second of her undressing.
