Taming Casanova by MJ Carnal

 I have read all of the Moretti books and loved every single one of them and Mark Moretti is my #1 FOR SURE!! BUT Kevin Merck...man oh man! This guy turned out to be NOTHING like I expected him to be! This playboys turns out to actually have a sweet and sensitive side to him!! MJ Carnal has done it once again!! Made me fall in love for one of her boys. She never fails to give us an amazing story with an amazingly hot guy to fall in love with. But apart from the hot guys, I also love the relationship between this group of friends. How much they care for one another and fight for each other is magnificent and something that I would love to have.

Each of MJ's book focuses on a specific guy in the gang, yet we also get little snippets of what is going on the rest of the guys relationships. Taming Casanova is book 4 in the series and this one focuses on the life of playboy Kevin Merck and his relationship with Caleb's sister Andi Allen. We met Kevin in the previous book Taming the Playboy and seen how he got involved into the Moretti gang. Kevin is known as being a playboy and having girls throwing themselves at him. He expects every girl he runs into to fall into his arms, but he doesn't get this when he meets Caleb's little sister Andi. Oh no, Andi is the total opposite! She has no problem telling him what she thinks of him. I loved their love/hate relationship and how they were constantly bickering with one another. 

Both of them do this in order to not fall for one another. But the inevitable happens, everyone around them can see the connection between these two. Finally they give in and decided to take their relationship seriously. But with every happiness comes a strike of tragedy, which is exactly what happens here. The rest of the book is so emotional and touching, I was seriously in tears while reading it. Seeing everyone in the gang broken, yet also trying to be strong for one another was so touching. The rest of the story we see Andi and Kevin fighting to get their happily ever after. 


Just like every one of the Moretti books, this one touches you and takes you in an amazing journey with the characters. MJ Carnal can definitely write an emotional book, but also a very hot and steamy one. I went from being all hot and bothered in one chapter to being teary eyed in the next. I love how she pulls us into this group of friends and we fall in love with each and every character. Once again I am blown away by such an amazingly written book and cannot wait to see what else MJ has in store for us!

Fable (The Lorn Prophecy) by Lisa Fender

I was contacted by the author if I would be interested in reviewing this book. I will be honest, not usually my go to books. BUT this book DID have that sort of element that The Mortal Instruments books had, and this intrigued me as I LOVE those books so I gave this book a chance.

This is the authors first novel, but that was not evident in the way the book was written. It was very captivating and grabbed my attention. A wonderfully written book. This book is about a typical teenage girl, who all of a sudden gets her world turned upside down. She soon discovers that she is special, and just how special she is. Stevie is a guardian of another land. This book is about her journey in discovering who she truly is all while trying to not get killed AND save this new land. It is very fast paced but you will enjoy every second of it. It's filled with a little of everything and. The basic storyline is very intriguing and refreshing to the usual love/romance filled books that I enjoy reading. Yes there is some romance involved in this book as well, but it is mostly a fantasy type of book.

I honestly did enjoy this book, but I think that someone younger than me would more thoroughly enjoy it. Like I said, i was HOOKED on the Mortal Instruments books, but got hooked on those while in High School, which I think would have been the great age to have fallen in love with this book as well! Overall I would recommend this book as a great in between book when you need a light, not as emotional book as the usual romance books that I review are.

Daring the Wild Sparks by Ren Alexander

This is the next book in Ren's series and leaves off were Chasing the Wild Sparks leaves off. We continue to see the struggled and hardships that Finn and Hadley's relationship goes through. Just like the first book, this one is also beautifully written. It just captivates you and at times frustrates you. There aren't many books that will actually make you feel as if the characters are real. But I feel that this book does just that. While reading I felt as if Finn and especially Hadley, were friends of mine; this made me want to cry with them at times, or want to scream and slap them in others.

I think this book is a lot more emotional than the first book. It also frustrated me a lot more. With this book I found myself having to take a break as I wanted to grab the characters by the hair and make them realize just how much they love one another. This book takes place starting Easter weekend and on. The things that we discover in the beginning truly shock and rock their relationship. Just when everything seems to be going great and they are working their stuff out, boom, a new twist in the book. I will say, I was so touched at the dare that Finn does, and that we has willing to do it on television for everyone to know that he was taken. But insecurities run through not only Hadley's head, but also through Finn's head. They both think they are not enough for one another and that the other will go tired of them, thus leaving them heartbroken

We are taken through a crazy ride with this couple and even though they infuriate me sometimes I still enjoyed every second of it! A lot of issues that this couple struggle through are very real and you can feel it in the way that they argued. I found myself that even though I had to take breaks from reading it, the breaks were never long enough! I just HAD to go back to reading and find out if this couple ever truly work out their problems or will they both end up heart broken. It is such a lovely book and so well written.

The only sad part about all of this is that now I have to wait for the next one. As I was reading this, and got to the end I screamed when it ended, I just NEED more Finn and Hadley. I bet you guys will feel the same after reading this amazing book from this great new author!

Chasing the Wild Spark by Ren Alexander

This is Ren Alexander's first book. Whenever I know that I'm reading an authors first novel, I'm very hesitant as I'm expecting a book to be filled with errors, or for the story to not flow smoothly. Boy am I glad I read this book, I was hooked on this couple and seeing where they would take their relationship. This was an excellent written book, one that captivated me and pulled me into the characters world and made me feel as if I was going through everything they were going through. The characters are amazing, you don't only fall for the main characters but all of the side characters as well. I grabbed both of Ren's books while they were on sale and quickly jumped into this book and I found myself lost in Finn and Hadley's world. Unable to pull away from this book I found myself up until about 3am reading it and just HAVING to dive into the next one to read it as well.

Chasing the Wild Sparks follows the ups and downs of Hadley and Finn's relationship. They have been together for three years, but not many know about their relationship. Finn is a well known sportscaster and likes to keep his private life just that, private. Hadley has always been okay with this, as she likes to keep things private as well. But lately Hadley has been thinking of marriage and children which sounds 

Iike the logical next step in their relationship, except for one problem: Finn is deadset against both. Having seen so many failed marriages around him he doesn't want that for him and Hadley. For him the next step is simply having "Becks" (Hadley) move in with him. But Hadley is unsure if she wants that, especially with no hope of ever getting married. Both love each other very much, but are they able to come to a compromise, one that allows these two to truly be happy with one another?

I kept reading this book and wanting to grab Finn a couple of times, and shake him for being so stubborn and not realize how his attitude was hurting his relationship. But I also wanted to slap Hadley a few times and make her realize just how much Finn loves her. I was frustrated a lot while reading this book, but at the characters not the author. Not many books will move such emotions in me. I felt as if Hadley was my friend and I was hurting when she was. I just want to see their happiness happen and wanted to hope that somehow they got through this tough patch in their relationship. I highly recommend this book, but I suggest you have the next book in the series Daring the Wild Sparks ready for you to dive in once you are done with this one.

Twice In A Lifetime by Ruthie Henrick

I received than ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I will start off with saying, if you are looking for hot Alpha male romance book then this is not the book for you. But this is a very beautiful and romantic story. It's a story fill of betrayals, healing and above all: second chances. 

Sometimes you need a book that is just full of love and real life situations to take a break from those intense, hot, steamy books. From the very start of it all you saw how much Jake loved Allie, yet he did what was best for her and continued to be her best friend while she was with Ben. He suffered through everything from Ben and Allie dating, to getting married, to when they had their first child. Throughout it all Jake was their by heir side, being the best friend and being 'Uncle Jake'. Anything Allie needed from him. Then tragedy strikes and Ben is killed in a car accident. Upon his death, secrets and betrayals from Ben's part come to light. The Ben that Allie and Jake seemed to have known is not really who he was. But Allie finds the strength to forgive Ben. Slowly she moves on with this new life that she has, and as always Jake is by her side to care for her. I loved how Jake never left her no matter how much it hurt to know she wasn't his.

The way this story continues and developed. It was wonderful and just how I wanted it to play out! The way their relationship evolves is wonderful, I loved how they both fell for one another yet Allie  was blind to it all. I am so happy that Allie got a second chance for her Happily Ever After. 

This story is such well written. I fell for these characters do hard and fast. I loved how involved we were in their lives. I am excited to look for more books by this great author!

Hi, Stu.  First let me say, I am beyond thrilled that you agreed to be the face of my character, Colt Harris for the cover of Finding Home.  As I've told you, I saw a picture of you a couple of years ago and the whole character of Colt sprang to life from that, which is something that I've never done before.  I've always had the character in my head and then searched for someone who fit.   I am beyond thrilled that the very man who inspired the character has agreed to represent him on my cover.  So, thank you, from the bottom of my heart for that.

I know that you are first and foremost a rugby player and athlete.  What made you decide to go into modeling? I sort of just fell into modeling.  I think being in sports and in good shape fits really well with modeling, and fitness modeling in particular.  Being in professional sports already had me in great shape, so stepping into fitness modeling was an easy transition.

 

What's the most unusual pose you've been asked to do?  No really unusual poses to date that stick out in my mind.  Some of the action shots are tough as it takes time to capture the right shot, so may have to do the same thing over and over again.

 

Another question I know everyone is always asking: is there any particular meaning behind your awesome tattoo?  Do the symbols represent something, or was it just a design you said, Hey, that looks cool, I want that? I got my tattoo when I was recovering from a really tough Achilles tendon injury.  I had a couple of operations to finally get it right, so it was during that time that I worked out the design with the tattooist and he did the magic.  I have always been interested in Tribal designs and culture, so the tattoo reflects that, and it reminds me of that really tough 14 month period in my life: the really low points which made me strong and determined, and a high point when I finally got back fit to play super league again after 14 months of recovery and rehab.

 

I've heard tattoos are addictive.   Will you get more or are you done?  Yes, tattoos are very addictive, I think I may get some more in the future but I've not decided yet.

 

I know you come to the States for modeling jobs, where all have you been? Yes, I've been to a couple of places in the States, NYC, Miami and LA.

 

Where have you not gone but would like to?   I would love to visit Vegas.  America is a huge country so I'm sure there are loads of beautiful places to visit.

 

For me, because I'm a Native Texan, I have to ask: have you been to Texas? I have not but I would love to visit Texas :)

 

 

How does it feel to be a muse for a character in a book? I'm very flattered to be your muse for Finding Home.  It's a pleasure to be liked :)

 

When I was looking through pictures of you on the Internet, I came across one where you were holding a guitar.  I grew up a Band Geek and love music of all kinds and try to incorporate it in my books when I can.  That picture inspired a whole scene in the book, where Colt is stressed about something and picks up his guitar and is idly playing while talking to his girlfriend, Sarah.  Do you play?   Yes, I play the guitar, not really well, though, I'm still learning.  I'm a beginner so it's a working process.

 

Later in the scene, he sings to her.  Do you sing? I try to sing but I'm not the best at that either.  I need to practice more  {Ann: I'm sure all the ladies are feeling what I am right now: *swoon*!!!  Stu singing!  *sigh* ;)}
