Faith and Trust by Amanda Kay

 

I am ADDICTED to Amanda Kay's books and I must say, she has done it yet again with this amazing book. If you are a fan of paranormal books, especially paranormal romance then THIS is the book for you! Amanda has created this amazing group of characters that you will fall in love with. They are all so different and captivating that you can't help BUT grow attached to all of them. Definitely check this book out. It's THREE amazing guys in ONE book, what more can you ask for???

You start off with Colt and Harper. Both has lost someone that they were very close to, Colt having lost his twin sister and Harper having lost her mother. The loss of his sister made Colt start to make some poor decisions. BUT it's these poor decisions that leads him to Harper. With Harper's mothers words, "faith and trust", these two will navigate through life and try to deal with what is thrown at them. Won't say exactly that that is, just that it will make them trust one another in order to get through the worst of it.

The second couple we meet is Ozzie and Rebecca. We meet Rebecca in part one of the book as she is Harper's roommate and knows Colt from when they were younger. I will say, I did not like her much in part one, just due to the way that she treated Colt. But slowly she wins me over and I come to love her as well. Ozzie, poor guy, he has it worst off as his father is in a relationship with the evil voodoo queen, the one in charge of all three of this couple's struggles and obstacles. They two have to put the phrase 'faith and trust' into good use if they are able to survive what is thrown at them.

The last couple is Peter and Forest. What I love most about this couple is the fact that they have known each other since they were 14 and although they did not keep in touch, they were both a big part of their lives and the decisions that they made. Seeing these two reconnect was wonderful. But once again the evil voodoo queen has other plans and throws them obstacle after obstacle.

The Faith and Trust crew is a group of couples that will make you believe that love CAN overcome ANY obstacle that is thrown at them. As long as you have faith and trust then nothing else really matters. I have grown to love them and also grown to HATE the evil voodoo queen who I just wanted to strangle! I have had the pleasure of seeing these characters come to life and seeing their story be created. I highly recommend this story even if you aren't a big fan of paranormal romance stories. This book might just make you rethink that!

 I’m twenty-eight years old, but will be twenty-nine in May. I am a Navy Wife and a mother of two. My daughter was born December 4, 2010 and my son was born July 18, 2013. My husband and I have been married for almost seven years, but we have been together since our junior year of high school and we have known each other since 8th grade, yes a long time.

I am a Florida girl at heart, but since getting married I have lived in Washington, South Carolina, and our latest move Connecticut. I hold a B.A. in Multimedia Journalism with a minor in Political Science from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida.

Writing is something I love and since I am blessed to be a stay at home mom I thought I would try my hand at getting the stories in my head out and see how far I could go. I tried a few years ago to go through a Literary Agency, but it went nowhere. The self-publishing market was just starting to get hot so I self-published two books mainly for family and friends.  I then discovered the world of New Adult. Review:

Her Cowboy Casanova is Kate's debut novel. For being a debut novel, I think that it was wonderfully written. It captivated me and kept me wanting to read more. I slowly fell in love with all of these characters. This book is a great mix of romance, family and you may even get a bit teary eyed in certain parts. Kate's description and way of writing pulls you into this small town and makes you feel as if you are part of it as well. For being her debut novel I think that Kate did an amazing job.

The two main characters are Dylan and Lorrie. Dylan is the town star, well known and a big playboy. He's always been know as that, but now that time has progressed and he has matured, Dylan is ready to settle down and build his life. Problem is, he is missing that special someone, missing something to make his life feel complete. In walks Lorrie, dealing with her mother's death she goes out in search of whatever it is she's missing in her life. She wants to find herself. She comes to this town in hopes of doing just so, knowing the whole experience will be a big adventure. The only thing that Lorrie did not count on was falling for someone, especially not this sexy cowboy that is Dylan. This whole story is not only a romance novel, but it's also about these two finding out who they are, finding each other and letting themselves open up to each other. Will they find out what they are looking for in each other?

This is a great romance novel. It's not only a romance book but also one about finding yourself in a way. It's captivating and well written. Kate does an amazing job in introducing characters and building up to the next book in this series. I cannot wait to read more from her, as I am sure they will be great.

Finding My Way by Heidi McLaughlin

Finally! It felt as if we were never going to get Liam's story, or at least it felt that way. I squealed when I saw that Finding My Way had been delivered! Heidi McLaughlin had me fall in love with Liam in Forever My Girl. We saw his life as he tried to get the love of his life back. But now we get the chance to see his high school years and his life as he became Liam Page, the famous rock star. Heidi McLaughlin's way of writing has always had a way of captivating me. Her way with details pulls me into Liam's mind and makes me feel as if I'm the one going through all of his troubles.

If you've read Forever My Girl, then you'll know a bit about his past. But now we get the REAL story behind the famous Liam Page. Wow! Poor Liam... he has so much pressure put on his shoulders. Dealing with an unloving father, an uninvolved mother, the only person that seems to be there for him is Josie. She's his rock. Football and Josie, those are the main focuses on Liam Westbury's life. But as his high school graduation and more importantly college gets closer, his stress levels go up more and he begins to feel helpless and as if his life isn't going as he had planned and envisioned. His only real 'me' time is when he is alone and able to freely play his guitar.

As we keep reading the book we keep seeing his stress levels going higher and higher. Liam feels hopeless and as if he's slowly losing his mind, and more importantly, himself. My heart completely broke when I read how Liam and Josie broke up, or how Liam broke up with her. Knowing how much he felt broken after doing so. After this breakup we see the story of how Liam Page came to be. One of my all time favorite scenes in the whole book was seeing Liam and Harrison's friendship form, and more importantly seeing when Quinn came into their lives. We also, finally, get the whole story behind Sam, and why she is that crazy woman we met in Forever My Girl. Even though Liam is now this world famous star, he is not completely happy. His 'Jojo' is always there in the back of his mind and in his heart...

I devoured this book. It hooked me in and kept me wanting to read more and more of Liam's story. Once again Heidi McLaughlin has given us an emotion filled book. Every single one of her books that I've read has captivated me and made me fall in love with her characters and this one is no exception. I fell EVEN MORE in love with Liam, if that was even possible. Seeing everything that he went through made me want to give him a huge hug. The Beaumont Series is definitely a MUST READ!!!
