WOW! Desert Heat is the PERFECT title for this book. It is filled with HOT, STEAMY scenes as well as HOT HOT men! I have read every single one of Elizabeth Reyes' books and have loved them all. Each one of them are unique and filled with so much emotion. You pick it up and you just CAN'T put it down until you are done with it. That is exactly the case with this one. And man, oh man..the plot twist in this book.. just when I thought things were heading towards a happily ever after, NOPE think again. This book will definitely make you fan yourself as well as make your heart melt.
Bethany, she is hiding from her past, and for the most part we don't know what she's running from. She lives her life trying to make money and keep afloat, as well as help her family out. Damian Santiago, a HOT,HOT, HOT detective. They meet at this speed-dating event. Damian never gets her name, but it was fate that these two meet again. And the connection between these two is undeniable. They have such great chemistry and bring out the best in each other. Bethany tries her hardest to keep him at an arms length due to her secret, but fails. Damian breaks down all her walls and digs his way into her heart. As their relationship develops we meet the rest of Damian's brothers. WOW! This family is just FULL of HOT guys!
Once we begin to get comfortable with these two's relationship, the author throws us this huge loop. Bethany's secret is disovered. Will Damian's love for her be enough to overcome this huge blowup and discovery? Or will he once again be heartbroken?
The emotions filled throughout this book is just amazing. You just feel the love, the angst, the hurt, EVERYTHING. I am once again amazed by Mrs. Reyes' wonderful writing. I cannot wait to see if we get more of the Santiago's in the future!
