Identity by Cleo Scornavacca

WOW! I was lucky enough to be contacted by Cleo and offered review copies of both her books. I am so glad that she offered both. I finished Miss Taken, book 1, and just HAD to dive into this one and see how the story would continue

Cleo Scornacacca has a way of writing a complex and emotional story without overusing her words, or stretching the chapters out. I felt myself pulled into this couple's emotional relationship. There were so many different secrets that we discovered at the end of the first book move over to this one. Rain and Dominick have such a complex relationship. One that didn't start out the traditional way. And it seems things just aren't traditional with this couple, but that's exactly why it works with them two. We see more secrets come to light, more twists and turns into this story.

You might think you know how the story, how this relationship will play out, but the author throws us curveball after curveball. You will find yourself reading to see how things play out. I am beyond excited for the third book to be released and finally see how this entire mystery/story plays out. Cleo Scornavacca has become one of those authors who I will be on the lookout for.

An exhilarating story in Historical - Fiction and a brief analysis on Khemitology. The author is proud to bring you, 'The High Priestess' her fourth book, after releasing her popular 'Wonderland Series' in 2013 - 2014. This story also delivers conspiracies of the past and present as Grandma "Anta'' gracefully and lovingly transports her only granddaughter Elizabeth Hawann to an ancient story passed down from her ancestors "The Khemitians". A powerful story emerges about a lost Dynasty and a love triangle forms between our Royals, featuring Khafa, 'The High Priestess'. Dominating the antediluvian world Khafa takes on Egypt's most threatening misfits with all she possesses. Murder, deception, treachery and seduction rules the path that Khafa treads upon.

Miss Taken by Cleo Scornavacca

I was offered an ARC of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review. I read the synopsis and was hooked, it is such a different story than those that I've read before. This is the debut novel for Cleo Scornavacca. It presents to us Rain Medici, a young photographer and Dominick Kane, a lawyer with so much emotion. I will warn you all now though, this book ends in a cliffhanger, so probably not a book that dislikes those types of books, unless you're like me and had book 2 in your kindle already.

Rain has lead a very sheltered and protected life. Having grown up with an overprotective mother due to her health condition, she has slowly been trying to free herself from everything and be her own person. She works and lives with her best friend Tommy, staying out of her family business of a law firm in which her father and twin sister work in.

On her way to Capri, she ends up in the hands of Dominick Kane, son of Rain's fathers former partner. Mr. Kane has a plan, he wants what he believes is his: part of Mr. Medici's law firm, the part that belonged to his father. He establishes this plan to use Rain to get what he wants. Dominick is so dominating, controlling. Soon this plan begins to alter as Rain and Dominick begin to get to know one another. The story begins to evolve into something much more than revenge, and one of getting free from this captivity.

I fell in love with the book from the first chapter, it is so different than those that I've read and intricate. It's an easy read, one that captures you and pulls you into the plot, you are not sure what will happen next. I was surprise to find out this was the author's debut novel. There were some places in the plot that are a bit hard to believe, but then again, this story is fiction and anything can happen. These things did not pull away from the story. I found myself reading the story every spare moment that I could. I groaned when I finished it and read the cliffhanger, but then I reminded myself that I had the next book in the series in my kindle and quickly jumped into that one.
They will be parts of the story where you will be mad at Rain, at least I was, and get frustrated with the characters. But I feel that makes the book better, it means you really are connecting with them! Definitely a great debut book, and I cannot wait to see how the story of Dominick and Rain plays out!
